On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed around 71,000 appointment letters to those individuals joining different government departments. PM Modi also addresses them virtually.

So far, Prime Minister Modi has provided appointment letters to around 2.9 lakh individuals, and their numbers are now 3.6 lahks after Tuesday's event.

Besides these events, PM Modi has been part of several 'Rozgar Mela' arranged by many Indian states, majorly those ruled by the BJP and supporters. On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, the 'Rozgar Mela' was carried out at 45 different locations across the country, an official statement said, adding that recruitments are taking place across state governments, central government departments, and Union Territories supporting this initiative.

The recruits, chosen from across the nation, will enter diverse positions like Gramin dak sevak, junior clerk-cum-typist, commercial-cum-ticket clerk, junior accounts clerk, track maintainer, lower division clerk, assistant section officer, inspector of posts, sub-divisional officer and tax assistants among others.

The Rozgar Mela is an initiative towards fulfilling the prime minister's commitment to according to highest preference for employment generation, it said. It is expected to operate as a catalyst or motivation in further employment generation and deliver meaningful opportunities for Indian youth to empower and actively participate in national development.

The newly placed selectees will also obtain an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh- an online orientation programme for all new appointees in different government departments, it added. Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the 'Rozgar Mela' exercise in the month of October the previous year to recruit 10 lakh people. He had invited all ministries and departments to identify and fill vacancies against sanctioned positions in a "mission mode".
