Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Education Minister, released through a virtual means the Students' Learning Enhancement Guidelines which aims at taking the school education via digital medium to the doorstep of the students amidst the corona pandemic.

The guidelines have been prepared by NCERT under the supervision of the Ministry of Education for current as well as the post-pandemic situation. As per the statement issued by the Minister, the guidelines have been designed keeping in mind the three types of situations: For the students who do not have any digital means; For the students who have limited digital means; and For the students who have access to digital means.

Dr. Pokhriyal said that these guidelines highlight the community's work to help to get learning material for school students at their doorstep by volunteers and teachers. The guidelines also provide a suggestion to set up a t.v at the communication center to teach local students by volunteers/ teachers following social distance rules. There is also a provision to set helpline at these centers with the help of Panchayati Raj or Community members. Mr. Pokhriyal also said that the implementation of the Alternative Academic Calendar is also suggested in all three aforementioned situations.

The acclamations provided in the guidelines are based on NCERT's survey on the handiness of digital means in CBSE, KVS, NVS etc.

As per the Ministry, this will be a huge help for the students who do not have access to digital means and who have learning deficiencies due to online teaching.
