On the auspicious occasion of World Youth Skills Day, the esteemed Union education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, unveiled a groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI) programme. This remarkable initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Skill India mission by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the National Council for Vocational Education and Skill, and GUVI—an Edutech enterprise incubated by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.



This visionary program has received accreditation from the National Council of Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and IIT Madras, solidifying its credibility. What sets this programme apart is GUVI's remarkable feat of curating the AI curriculum in nine different Indian languages. The Union education minister, expressing his enthusiasm on social media, stated that this programme would equip the youth with cutting-edge skills. Moreover, he emphasized that this endeavor marks a significant milestone in breaking down language barriers in technology education, empowering the youth especially those in rural areas—for a future that awaits.



During a conversation with the media, the minister shared his thoughts, highlighting the rapid rise of Chat GPT in the public domain. He acknowledged the incredible potential of Chat GPT as a transformative tool within the educational landscape. Despite the advancements in AI, Pradhan firmly believes in the primacy of human intelligence, stating that while AI is created by human minds, our youth will ultimately choose the power of human intellect.



In his dedication to fostering inclusivity, the minister expressed his encouragement for GUVI to curate courses in all Indian languages, reinforcing the importance of accessibility and equity in educational opportunities. This pioneering AI program signifies a remarkable step forward in empowering the youth and preparing them for the world that lies ahead.
