The Uttarakhand Cabinet has sanctioned a proposal to grant Rs. 50,000 each to 100 candidates who qualify the UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination. The officials reported that the grant will be disposed of under the scheme "Udayman Chhatra Yojana".

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is held annually in 03 phases to shortlist candidates for the country's prestigious Civil Services.

The Uttarakhand Government will also grant the same amount of Rs. 50,000 financial aid to aspirants preparing for the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, National Defence Academy, and Combined Defence Services (CDS).

Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal said, "This financial aid will help aspirants in preparation for the Mains examination".

The Uttarakhand Cabinet has also granted approval regarding the reopening of schools for students of Class 6 to Class 12. The schools will be reopened from Aug 1 in view of the declined number of COVID cases across the state.



Several other states, such as Punjab, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, have also permitted the reopening of schools.
