Visa announced a seven-year global collaboration with GoHenry, the prepaid card & financial education app for 6-to 18-year-olds. Visa will offer support as the premier global network partner for GoHenry’s prepaid cards for kids and teens in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe.

GoHenry helped develop a new category in youth finance ten years ago with a mission: to make every youth smart with money. Since then, with Visa’s support, GoHenry has helped change financial education for kids, teenagers, and their parents. The GoHenry financial education app and prepaid card allow young people to know about money via several categories, including spending responsibly, earning, saving, and charitable giving. The app also helps parents to direct their child’s improvement with features like real-time updates and customisable management.

Co-founder and US President of GoHenry, Dean Brauer, said when GoHenry first introduced the financial education space, we required a dynamic, trustworthy partner that was able to deliver us help and guidance not only as a new player in the sector but with our future development plans, too.

In the UK, GoHenry has been utilising Visa’s secure network and issuing Visa-branded cards since it was introduced in 2012. With this global deal, Visa will help support GoHenry’s expansion projects and its work to facilitate operations following its acquisition of French FinTech, Pixpay, and its current $55 million growth capital round.

Parents using GoHenry can seamlessly load funds to their child’s GoHenry account by operating their Visa debit cards via Visa Direct, giving their kids and teenagers more immediate access to their money.

SVP and Global Head of Innovation and Digital Partnerships at Visa, Vanessa Colella, said GoHenry changed the game for financial education for young people. We’re excited to extend our global partnership, which will help GoHenry’s plans to pitch in new markets and deliver unique features that empower parents and children across the globe.
