The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), as announced by Aniket S Talati, President of ICAI, during a press conference. The signing ceremony is scheduled for February 8, marking a collaboration aimed at providing career counseling in CBSE schools.

ICAI will extend its expertise to CBSE schools, offering career counseling to make students aware of the Chartered Accountancy course and the subsequent job opportunities. An MoU will facilitate the development of course content in the form of modules and videos for CBSE-affiliated schools.

ICAI introduced study material titled "Aarambh," designed to empower students with financial resilience and enhance decision-making abilities. Modules cover essential topics like 'Fundamentals of financial planning,' 'banking and credit,' 'understanding financial statements,' 'basics of taxation,' 'investment planning,' and 'retirement planning.'

Over the course of a two-day event, ICAI plans to sign MoUs with 11 universities, aiming to provide support in various areas such as syllabi development, content creation, online and recorded lectures, and faculty development programs.

This initiative aligns with the broader goal of fostering financial transparency, accountability, and good governance. It also supports the integration of skill development into higher education, ensuring that accounting professionals possess a versatile skill set matching global job market requirements. The collaboration between ICAI and CBSE is poised to create a robust educational ecosystem, preparing students for successful careers in finance and accountancy.
