The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced a significant reduction in the examination fee for the National Eligibility Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG).

Effective January 1, 2024, candidates applying for the upcoming NEET PG examination will enjoy a reduced fee, marking a positive shift from previous years. This decision is expected to benefit a vast number of candidates preparing for the competitive medical entrance test.

Under the revised fee structure, candidates from the General and OBC categories, who previously paid Rs 4,240 in 2021, will now only be required to pay Rs 3,500 – a notable reduction from the 2013 fee of Rs 3,750.

Likewise, candidates from the SC, ST, and PwD categories will also witness a reduction in the application fee. From the 2021 fee of Rs 3,250, it has been scaled down to Rs 2,500, bringing relief to candidates who initially paid Rs 2,750 in 2013.

This move by NBEMS is expected to make the NEET PG examination more accessible to a broader spectrum of candidates, fostering inclusivity and affordability in the medical education sector. Aspiring doctors can now pursue their dreams with a lighter financial burden, thanks to this fee reduction initiative.
