In a strategic collaboration, the Rockefeller Foundation is extending support to the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) for the establishment of the Climate Sciences and Technology Chair. This initiative is poised to cultivate advancements in climate technology interventions, steering toward the resolution of pressing global climate challenges.

Over the next five years, IIT Delhi will undertake the appointment of a distinguished academic specializing in climate sciences and technology. This endeavor seeks to augment the talent pool in this field, specifically from regions within the Global South.

The overarching objective is to stimulate innovation and foster global collaboration in the relentless pursuit of effective climate change mitigation strategies. The collaboration is aligned with The Rockefeller Foundation's recent commitment of USD 1 billion towards a comprehensive climate strategy, emphasizing the critical role of scientific action and concerted efforts in tackling climate change.
