Every year on October 17, International Day For The Eradication Of Poverty is observed across the globe to address the fight to overcome poverty.
The day is an international observance celebrated around the world to address the poverty-related issues faced by many that intercepts them from comprehending their rights and perpetuate their poverty including unsafe housing, dangerous working conditions, lack of nutritious food, lack of political power, limited access to justice and the healthcare system.
The first event took place on October 17 in Paris, France when around 01 lakh people gathered to pay respect to the victims of poverty and fear proclaiming that poverty is a violation of human rights.
