A total of 06 research scholars from the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna has been granted the prestigious PMRF (Prime Minister's Research Fellowship-2021).

According to the Ministry of Education, a fellowship of Rs. 70,000/ month will be granted to the shortlisted scholars for the duration of the first two years, Rs. 75,000/ month for the duration of the third year, and Rs. 80,000/ month in the fourth and fifth years.

Furthermore, a research grant of Rs. 02 lakh per year is also provided to eligible scholars for the duration of five years to fund the academic contingency and travel expenses, added the Ministry.

Launched in the year 2018-19, the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship scheme aims at improving the research quality in several higher educational institutions across the country. Through the scheme, fellowships are offered to attract the country's top talents and support them in pursuing innovative research in various fields of Science and Technology.

A total of 37 institutions including all Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the Indian Institute of Science-Bengaluru (IISc), the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), and some of the top Central Universities grant PMRFs to eligible scholars.
