4 BHU Scholars Selected for Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship

Four research scholars from (BHU)- Banaras Hindu University have been selected for the Prime Minister's research fellowship (PMRF) January 2023 cycle.



The selected research scholars are-




  • Taj Kumar, BHU, department of physics,

  • Praveen Kumar Kannojiya, Rajeev Kumar Pandey, and Vipin Kumar, BHU, Institute of science, department of geology,



These candidates were chosen after a vigorous procedure while their performance was examined at a national convention.



The selected Prime Minister's research fellowship (PMRF) candidates acquire a fellowship of Rs 70,000 in their first two years, observed by Rs 75,000 in their and Rs 80,000 in the fourth and fifth years. The scholar researchers also obtain a research contingency grant of Rs 2 lakhs per year.



The Prime Minister's research fellowship (PMRF) scheme was introduced in 2018-2019 and is for students seeking a Ph.D. programme in bachelor's in technology (B.Tech) or an equivalent course/programme. The selection procedure includes- considering the candidate's publications, research exposure, performance in international competitions like math olympiads and association for computing machinery (ACM), international collegiate programming contest (ICPC), and grades and recommendation letters.
