A new migration partnership has been signed between India and the UK to benefit young Indian and British professionals to live and work in one another's countries. This will boost work visas for Indian citizens and enhance migration cooperation between the two countries.



Some of the salient features of the partnership are mentioned below:





  • An ambitious partnership has been signed between the UK and India to give 2 year work Visas to Indian nationals.




  • It includes a special Professionals Scheme for allowing Indians and Briticisms to work and live for 2 years.




  • Home Secretary (Priti Patel) and Indian Minister of External Affairs (Subrahmanyam Jaishankar) signed the ‘Migration and Mobility Partnership’ to make it easier to live in each other’s countries to enhance cooperation and to combat immigration crime and fraud.




  • UK will offer the best opportunities to all the brightest and best talents from India and around the world to come, live and study as well.




  • It will allow up to 3000 young Indian professionals to come to the UK each year.




  • It is part of a wider joint UK-India effort to tackle the immigration crime.




  • It will allow 18-30 year olds to work and live in each other country for up to 2 years.




  • More than 53,000 Indian students came to the UK last year to study, according to the statistics and 1/4th of all international students in the UK are from India.




  • This new post-study Graduate Route will allow eligible graduates to stay in the UK and it will offer this another way to build careers and experience in the UK as applications will be open on 1st July, 2021.




  • Indian Nationals who will complete their studies in the UK and who will want to supplement their training with professional experience in the UK may apply To remain in the UK Immigration Rules.
