Introducing a remarkable collaboration between the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Meta, a new program named "Creators of Metaverse" has been launched. This initiative aims to prepare India's youth for the exciting world of immersive technology.
At the heart of this programme is the Meta Spark platform, which will provide an engaging learning experience for one lakh college students and 20,000 faculty members, equipping them with essential knowledge in Augmented Reality (AR).
The Creators of Metaverse programme spans over ten days, offering a 20-hour curriculum with instructor-led sessions, group mentoring, and project-based assignments. Students will have access to industry-grade AR software tools and resources, enabling them to build their portfolios, expand their professional networks, and gain valuable virtual workplace experience.
By becoming certified Meta Spark creators, participants will receive exclusive guidance from mentors for the Meta Spark Creator Exam, further enhancing their skills in this dynamic field.
This ambitious initiative by AICTE and Meta seeks to empower the future generation and establish India as a leader in the Metaverse revolution. Spearheaded by the AICTE Training and Learning Bureau (TLB), the programme holds the potential to revolutionize India's education landscape while fostering a spirit of innovation among young minds.
During the launch event, inspiring AR projects created by students in the pilot phase showcased the program's ability to shape rewarding career paths in the captivating world of immersive technologies.
Notable figures, including TG Sitharam and Rajive Kumar from AICTE, as well as representatives from Meta, reaffirmed the government's commitment to advancing technological education.
The chairperson of AICTE expressed excitement about the program, emphasizing its significance in preparing youth for future jobs, while Meta's Natasha Jog conveyed enthusiasm, emphasizing the nurturing of problem solvers, creators, and solopreneurs who will use AR to bring innovative solutions.
Furthermore, Meta has pledged to engage with over 10 million students and one million teachers in Indian schools, focusing on digital citizenship and AR-VR education, further solidifying their dedication to shaping the future of technology in education.
