The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) and the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) collaborated to conduct an interactive session on research and education. Scientists, research councils, researchers, advisors of the AYUSH ministry, heads of national institutes, and research councils attended the interactive session. Five chief guests were invited to the interactive conference from diverse departments.

This interactive session aimed to conduct a collaborative brainstorming session on the expertise and experiences of people holding chair roles in different academic and research areas. Further, the research environment at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Ayush educational institutes was also one of the primary points of discussion.

The Ministry of Ayush has appointed the chair positions in different domains such as interdisciplinary clinical research, public health and epidemiology, pharmaceutical drug development, ayurveda biology and basic sciences, and consciousness and cognitive sciences.

Rajesh Kotecha, from the secretary ministry of Ayush, stated that: “Covid 19 Pandemic was the opportunity for Ayush to grow and develop their science, and Ayush did it by developing Ayush 64, etc. I would appeal to the leaders to brainstorm and discuss how we can use Ayush science for our postgraduate and Ph.D. students, which can help the nation and the world,”.

To this statement, the director general of CCRAS, Rabinarayan, added: “During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ayush system has published more than 250 clinical studies when we check the Chinese system of medicines, they have only published 140 clinical studies.” Meanwhile, Tanuja Nesari, director of All India Institute of Ayurveda, said, “This platform gives us an opportunity to develop evidence-based Ayurveda creating disciplinary model and integration.”
