BHU Introduces 12 New Scholarships with Rs 60 Lakh Obtained in Donations

In a remarkable display of generosity and support, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has unveiled a series of 12 new scholarships for students across various programs. This noble endeavor was made possible by a substantial donation of Rs 60 lakh, graciously contributed by esteemed alumni Kishori Jhunjhunwala and Jagdish Jhunjhunwala.
Kishori Jhunjhunwala's contribution of Rs 50 lakh has paved the way for ten scholarships, each valued at Rs 25,000. Eight of these scholarships will be awarded to deserving students at Mahila Mahavidyalaya, based on a merit cum means evaluation. Meanwhile, two scholarships will be offered to students pursuing Acharya in Veda within the Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vijnana Sankaya.
Additionally, Jagdish Jhunjhunwala, an accomplished alumnus of BHU, has donated Rs 10 lakh to establish two scholarships specifically designed for female students pursuing BSc (Hons) Physics.
Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain, the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of BHU, expressed profound gratitude for the remarkable contributions made by these philanthropic individuals.
