Polish Universities Classes To Switch Online as Energy Crisis Worsens

Poland is currently reviving itself from a bizarre energy crisis brought upon the country of 38 million people due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, which pushed up commodity prices. Polish universities plan to switch to online lectures and cut access to facilities on weekends because of facing massive hikes in electricity prices in 2023. But, the varsities remain hopeful the government will step in to support ease at least some of the burden.

Iranian Students Call for Boycotts, Strikes Among Continuing Protests

On Tuesday- 27 September, a statement from the Paris-based secretariat of the (NCRI)- National Council of Resistance of Iran put the digit of those arrested at over 12,000 in the first eleven days of the protests, with deaths surpassing 240. Students from various universities released statements this week and called for strike action and the boycott of online classes. Some students also appealed for the release of all student activists and a return to offline classes. Students also asked their professors to join the strike.

Six months have passed since the distribution of textbooks began in the state, and around two crore school textbooks are yet to reach students. There are about 1.92 crore students registered in 1.33 lakh schools in the state.
