Education Ministry: Over 98% Educationally Backward Blocks in Bihar

In reply to a question in Parliament on Monday, The Education Ministry said that more than 98 percent of educational blocks in Bihar are educationally backward. According to the data by the ministry, 530 out of 537 educational blocks in Bihar are termed educationally backward blocks. No other state than Bihar has more than 80 percent of education blocks labeled backward.

Rajasthan Govt To Launch a Tech Centre for Graduates

On August 18, the Rajasthan government inaugurated a one of its kind finishing school in order to make tech graduates more employable. Ashish Gupta, Commissioner and Joint Secretary, DoIT, said that the chief minister had announced the set-up of the center to increase the employability among students in last year's budget. The one-of-a-kind Tech Centre will be inaugurated on August 20.

IGNOU Will Train Over 10,000 Teachers On The NEP-2020

The Indira Gandhi National Open University has launched a training programme for more than 10,000 teachers. the university is working, intending to achieve the national goals via the launch of new programmes/courses in regional languages as predicted in the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP) to recognize the aim of a 50 percent Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) by 2035.

UP Board: Aadhar Card Compulsory for Registrations for UPMSP Classes 9-12

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad had made an Aadhar card compulsory for registration of classes 9 to 12. The question papers for the board exams of classes 10 and 12 will be separated into parts- subjective questions and multiple choice questions (MCQs). Schools affiliated with the UP board have been directed to appoint career counselors for the students to help them academically but also to maintain better mental health and emotional wellbeing.

High Court: Child's Education should not be Impacted on account of Family Circumstances

The high court observed that once it comes to the notice of the court that a child or any other individual is underprivileged of fundamental rights, the court has to assure that the fundamental right is compulsory with no limitation for any individual to enjoy the same. A child or a minor must not suffer the consequences of a crime committed by their parents.

Govt to Launch 589 Vocational Schools to Offer 13 New Skills

The 589 new schools aim at developing professional knowledge and opportunities towards vocational skills among students. Education Minister Jitu Vaghani announced that the 13 vocational categories include apparel, home furnishings, beauty and wellness, food processing, plumber, sports, etc.

Free Education Scheme in Haryana but Over 92% Seats Empty

Under the newly launched scheme, as many as 381 budget private schools had offered 24,987 seats for students from economically weaker sections of government schools, for which the state will refund their fee of Rs 700/1,100 per student. The last date of admission was July 27 under the scheme, and only 1,665 students from government schools have chosen to go to private schools, which is just 6.6% of the total offered seats.

JEPC to Introduce Vocational Courses in Over 500 Schools

Group insurance policy to teachers staff: U.P. Basic Education Department

The education department has drafted a proposal for a cashless group health insurance policy for teachers and other staff. The policy can be chosen voluntarily and will be of ?3 lakh, ?5 lakh, ?7 lakh, and 10 lakh. The insurance covers the entire family, including the dependents, couple, two children, and parents.
