DAAD-Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst Postgraduate Scholarship in Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, and Film 2023 is now open for International students.

The scholarship entitles Masters's level programmes in Fine Arts, Designing, Visual Communication, and Film Studies taught at DAAD. The deadline for the scholarship is not yet specified.

DAAD Postgraduate Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship that allows you to continue your education career in Germany or continue a programme of study in the fields of Fine Art, Design, Visual Communication, and Film.

DAAD Postgraduate Scholarship also encourages the exchange of experience and networking amongst associates.

Degree Level:

DAAD Postgraduate Scholarship in the Field of Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, and Film 2023 is open to undertake Masters level programmes at Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD).

Scholarship Benefits:

• 861 Euros per month


• Travel stipend


• One-off study allowance


• Payments for health, accident, and personal harm insurance cover

Scholarship holders may acquire the additional benefits:

• The monthly house rent subsidy


• Monthly budget for accompanying members of the family.


• In the case of a disability or chronic sickness: payment for extra costs which result from the disability/chronic illness and are not covered by other funding providers.


• To help scholarship holders to learn German in preparation for their stay in the nation, DAAD delivers the payment of course fees for an online course after receiving Scholarship Award Letter.


• If required: German language course- 2, 4, or 6 months before the beginning of the study visit in Germany; the DAAD determines whether to fund participation and for how long, relying on German language skills and project. Participation in a language course is mandatory if the language of teaching or working language is German at the German host institute. Due to the covid 19 pandemic, German language courses may be online.


• Allowance for a privately selected German language programme during the scholarship period.


• Refund of the fee for a TestDaF/DSH test, which students can take either in their residence country after they have received Scholarship Award Letter.

Students should note that the DAAD does not cover tuition fees.

Eligible Nationalities:

DAAD- Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst Postgraduate Scholarship in the field of Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, and Film 2023 is open to all international students.

Eligibility Criteria:

International students who have gained a first university degree in Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, and Film at the latest by the time they start their scholarship-supported study course.

Selection criteria:

• The artistic qualification and maturity will be measured by studying accomplishments and workpieces/samples.


• The quality of the project, as calculated by the study plan and the letter of motivation.
