A notable stride towards promoting collaboration in research, trade, commerce, and the textile and cotton industries between India and various African countries has been taken with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Delhi University and the National Council for Handloom and Handicraft Development. This alliance seeks to establish a platform for cooperation and knowledge exchange, fostering growth and development in diverse sectors.



The MoU indicates a significant partnership to create a bridge between two regions that share rich cultural heritage and economic potential. Delhi University's Vice-Chancellor, Yogesh Singh, underscored the multifaceted nature of this collaboration. This momentous step was taken in the presence of key dignitaries, including Vice-Chancellor Singh, Registrar Vikas Gupta, and Head of the Department of African Studies Gajendra Singh from Delhi University. Representing the National Council for Handloom and Handicraft Development were Executive Director VP Thakur, along with project officers Surendra Kumar and Pardeep Yadav. The MoU serves as a shared dedication to fostering cultural exchange, economic growth, and empowerment. It underscores the potential for collaboration to transcend boundaries and drive positive change on both regional and global scales.
