The Directorate General of Training (DGT) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) India to provide students with advanced training in cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing, data annotation, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML).

DGT is responsible for long-term skill training across India through around 15,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and 33 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs). Thanks to AWS India's support, students in these institutes will have access to free self-paced online learning programs in various technologies.

The learning content will be available on DGT's Bharat Skills platform at bharatskills.gov.in. DGT offers course content, digital materials, question banks, and learning videos for all programs under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS).

The collaboration focuses on data annotation to advance AI and ML projects. AWS India will equip DGT to train individuals in data annotation and labeling using Amazon SageMaker Ground Truth, a specialized service that simplifies the process of labeling training data for machine learning.

Furthermore, AWS India will provide cloud computing curricula to selected educational institutions under DGT. These curricula aim to prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and sought-after cloud-related jobs.

Atul Kumar Tiwari, secretary of MSDE, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating that it will make high-demand, emerging technology training available to students, creating new opportunities and enhancing employability. The collaboration with AWS will empower students from ITIs and NSTIs to gain essential skills and hands-on experience in vital areas like cloud computing, data annotation, AI, and ML. Moreover, the faculty will receive valuable training in these technologies, leading to improved learning outcomes.
