An academic cooperative scheme, Vidya Vistar Scheme, has been proposed by the Delhi University with other institutions based in remote areas. Under the newly introduced scheme, DU will be offering its libraries, faculties, and academic facilities to the partner institutions for academic collaboration and cooperation.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University P C Joshi, said that the objective is to take premiere university and its facilities to places where it is needed. DU's state-of-the-art resources such as journals, lecturers, projects, textbooks, etc. would be shared with the participating colleges in remote areas.

The aim of the scheme is to target the regions with inadequate resources and marginalized areas such as deserts, northeast, hilly, and island regions. Joshi further added, "DU can make a difference in areas which do not have good resources. This will be mutually beneficial, as we will also get to diversify our research by learning about their problems and help them grow".

The scheme will involve offline and online lectures, faculty training, workshops, joint researches, and publishing work in partnership with other institutions.
