Education Should Be in Mother Tongue, says Dharmendra Pradhan
Dharmendra Pradhan stated that when we’re talking about NEP- Tamil is a national language. Education should be in the mother tongue, and I don’t see any valid opposition from anybody. Today, some friends are not in favor, but gradually they’ll support it.

On Monday, Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, emphasized the importance of education in one’s mother tongue and said that the inclusion of the Tamil language in the National Education Policy would gradually achieve support.
Dharmendra Pradhan stated that when we’re talking about NEP- Tamil is a national language. Education should be in the mother tongue, and I don’t see any valid opposition from anybody. Today, some friends are not in favor, but gradually they’ll support it. He added that Tamil Nadu has a remarkable heritage in education. Tamil Nadu will continue to lead the way in the framework of National Education Policy 2020 as it has always done.
On Monday, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Pradhan unleashed the Strategic Plan 2021-27 of IIT Madras.
The strategic plan delivers an ambitious growth phase for the Institute and dedicated Mphasis Centre for Quantum Sciences & Kotak-IIT (M) Save Energy Mission.
He also initiated the ‘Kotak IITM Save Energy’ Mission, being set up with CSR funding support from Kotak in order to assist MSMEs to downsize energy consumption, and felicitated the Mphasis team for supporting the development of the (CQuICC)- Centre for Quantum Information, Communication, and Computing. Diploma certificates were granted to nominated students of the BSc program in Data Science.
The indigenous GDI engine designed by IIT Madras and supported by TVS Motor Company and a low-cost vegetable cart brooded at IIT (M) was inaugurated by the Union Education minister.
