A deemed to be a University, KAHER- KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research commemorated its 12th annual convocation on Wednesday. Minister of higher education and chief guest of the event, C Ashwath Narayan, awarded gold medals and certificates to the students of diverse branches. KLES chairman Prabhakar Kore was present there during the event.

Around 1,502 degrees in several disciplines of health sciences were awarded during the event. 37 gold medals were awarded to 30 students for their extraordinary performance in academics. 14 Ph.D., 494 postgraduate degrees, 10 post-doctoral, 909 undergraduate degrees, 8 fellowships, 22 undergraduate diplomas, 34 certificate courses, and 11 postgraduate diplomas were awarded granted during the convocation.

In the event, Ashwath Narayan commented that knowledge, skill, and value-based education are the key to success in the 21st century. He added that education had experienced a paradigm transformation to cater to the needs of learners with diverse talents, aspirations, and professional requirements. Therefore, in today's era, higher education, specifically health science education and health science, is going through an instantaneous metamorphosis.

Ashwath Narayan expressed his happiness as Karnataka was the first state in India to create an execution framework to recognize the notion and objectives of the National Education Policy 2020 and to execute it from the academic year 2021-22. He stated that NEP 2020 visualizes a comprehensive overhaul and re-energizing of the higher education system. The minister said NEP 2020 is going to bring a positive change in the horizon of education in India.
