On Wednesday, the Bali G20 declaration pledged to act in solidarity with developing countries to revamp more resilient, tech-enabled, accessible, and efficacious education systems highlighting that access to education is a human right and a powerful tool for inclusive and sustainable economic recovery.

The declaration also vowed to resume promoting women’s and girls’ equivalent access to inclusive and high-quality education, including active participation in Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, women's entrepreneurship via MSMEs, and women’s and girls’ access to leadership roles.

It said we would empower suitable actors within and beyond G20 to vacate hindrances to education, enhance teaching and learning environments, and help transitions within and across all phases of education, with stress/focus on women and girls.

The declaration, issued after the two-day summit in this Indonesian city, remarked that access to education is a human right and a powerful tool for inclusive and sustainable economic recovery. It said we would act in solidarity with growing countries to revamp more resilient, tech-enabled, accessible, and highly effective education systems. We also underline the importance of learners’ well-being in their preparation for work and significant participation and contribution to a more impartial, inclusive, and sustainable society.

The declaration reaffirmed the significance of (ESD)- Education for Sustainable Development and G20's affirmation of SDG4 to provide inclusive and equitable quality education and training. It said, we are committed to encouraging lifelong learning at all levels amidst the changing nature of work and promoting partnership in this regard.

India will have the presidency over G20 Summit 2023. Dharmendra Pradhan, Education Minister, immediately held a high-level meeting for the G20summit 2023 preparation in India. India’s G20 presidency is a golden opportunity to present India’s template for education which can be an international model for all emerging economies.
