(IGNOU)- The Indira Gandhi National Open University has recently joined hands with YuWaah (Generation Unlimited India) at UNICEF in order to deliver career awareness and guidance to IGNOU students.

These sessions are conducted every Tuesday and have witnessed more than 4,000 views from students. In these sessions, students are introduced to new job search platforms to help improve their employability.

The first session was carried out on January 17, 2023, and in the three sessions that have been conducted till now, students were made conscious of platforms like JobHai, Internshala, Apna, and LinkedIn and were also given guidance on how to network to find the right opportunity.

Students learned about walkthroughs of the portals, information freshers should keep in mind while joining the job market, and the best techniques while applying for jobs and preparing for interviews were also shared. Students were motivated to explore opportunities on these platforms to broaden their scope of ensuring a job in their preferred field.

Students got a short overview of the ‘YuWaah Step Up- Bano Job Ready’ programme, an initiative soon to be launched for IGNOU students, which aims to support young job seekers in finding jobs that match their interests and skill sets. Through the programme, students will get help from coaches to make resumes, advice on how to look for jobs, build profiles on job portals, and apply for suitable jobs and interviews.

Students were also told about offerings that can be accessed by students, including upskilling and exploring employability content on online platforms such as Passport2Earning, and FunDoo.
