The Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru has set up a new Nokia CoE ( Centre of Excellence) in Networked Robotics at its campus. The Nokia CoE has been built in collaboration with Nokia at IISc Bengaluru.

The aim of the Centre is to promote interdisciplinary research in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Communication Technologies in 5G.

Under the initiative, the funding for the Centre will be provided by Nokia for 03 years, informed the Institute. The research area of the centre will comprise robotics design, artificial intelligence and automation solutions and applications in telecom networks.

As per the official statement, the Centre will also develop use cases across agriculture, industrial automation, and disaster management. The CoE also aims to engage with academia, industrial and start-up partners and collaborate with them for R&D of use cases.
