IIT Bombay to Receive a Grant of $240,000 For Industry Research
Under this initiative, the emphasis will be on advancing academic & industry research in foundational technologies like Modern Enterprise systems. This initiative will cover computer, network, security, multi-cloud, storage, mobile systems, edge, modern applications, data, and applied technologies such as Blockchain, 5G, and 6G.

IIT Bombay: The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay will receive a budget of $240,000 from the VMware University Research Fund (VMURF). The grant is being allotted to IIT Bombay’s CSERL- Computing Systems Education and Research Lab initiative. The investment will be completed in a phased manner over two years.
Under this initiative, the emphasis will be on advancing academic & industry research in foundational technologies like Modern Enterprise systems. This initiative will cover computer, network, security, multi-cloud, storage, mobile systems, edge, modern applications, data, and applied technologies such as Blockchain, 5G, and 6G.
CSERL will focus on increasing the stress on promoting modern enterprise systems research and engineering development methods. It will also concentrate on creating an optimal managerial ecosystem at the center to accelerate systems research and evangelise the capabilities of cutting-edge systems research practice in India.
The platform will concentrate on developing academic programs and content with systems specialisation and will also perform outreach activities such as annual workshops & summer/winter schools.
The official release stated that the overall scope of CSERL activities is to advance modern Computing Systems research themes and projects, design academic programs and content, and deliver platforms for learning and collaboration. The research and capacity-building exercises aim to positively influence the capacity for work in research, industry, and academia.
