Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) recently announced that a team from the IIT Guwahati developed a 3D printed security post using M40 grade sustainable concrete containing industrial wastes, fibers, and chemical admixtures.

IIT Guwahati said in a press statement that under the mentorship of Assistant Professor Dr. Biranchi Panda Stratify 3D Pvt. Ltd- a startup established by Dodda Srinivas, Akshay Sahu, and Dhrutiman Dey, has developed the technology.

The institute said the security post was constructed in collaboration with the Institute Infrastructure, Planning, and Management team and claims to be sustainable in terms of construction practice and material composition. The 3D Security post has a carpet area of 85 sq. ft. and contains 56 modules.

Assistant Professor Mechanical Department, IIT Guwahati, Dr. Biranchi Panda, said in this project, we addressed the aesthetic potential of digital construction technology while using sustainable construction materials. Material and surface texture indicates the remarkable aesthetic possibilities of concrete printing technology utilized for the security post-construction.
