The Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation of the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad has signed a memorandum of understanding with ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India). The MoU has been signed to collaborate in the streams of India-specific tech development, real-world verification, simulation, and validation for advanced autonomous driving and driver assistance systems.
ARAI and TiHAN will jointly work to promote, develop, research, and offer solutions, practices, and technologies to the industry. This industry will use its capabilities in a collaborative way.
The Project Manager at TiHAN-IIT-H Prof P Rajalakshmi informed that this collaboration will remarkably contribute to sustainable and safe autonomous mobility solutions in the Indian environment and will also provide a considerable understanding of TiHAN's activities.
This collaboration will also promote skill development, innovation ecosystem, and entrepreneurship activities in the stream of autonomous navigation systems.
The IIT-H's TiHAN mainly targets research, design, and development of data acquisition systems and autonomous navigation etc.
The Director of IIT-H Prof BS Murthy said, "TiHAN has been established with the vision of supporting activities related to autonomous navigation which will make India a leader in this particular domain".
