IIT Hyderabad, SVYRI Announced Fellowships for Ph.D. in Heritage Science and Technology
In order to be eligible for the (MRD) Mahayogini Rajyalakshmi Devi Heritage Research fellowships for Ph.D. in heritage science and technology, candidates must have a Mtech (master in technology), ME (master in engineering), master in science degree or allied areas or own a bachelor in technology with a valid GATE score.

IIT- The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad signed an MoU with (SVYRI)- Sri Visweswara Yoga Research Institute in order to launch research fellowships.



The applications for the fellowship will be available all year but will be processed twice a year.



In order to be eligible for the (MRD) Mahayogini Rajyalakshmi Devi Heritage Research fellowships for Ph.D. in heritage science and technology, candidates must have a Mtech (master in technology), ME (master in engineering), master in science degree or allied areas or own a bachelor in technology with a valid GATE score.



The research student under the Mahayogini Rajyalakshmi Devi (MRD) fellowships will be able to acquire a fellowship of Rs 75,000 per month. In addition, the applicants will also be funded for travel to an international conference to present their results. The research will be in any field of science and technology, as applied to intangible or tangible Indic heritage, such as yoga, music, Ayurveda, dance, arts, language, sculpture, or architecture at the department of heritage science and technology (HHHST) at IIT Hyderabad.



BS Murthy, IIT Hyderabad Director, said Robust, empirically quantifiable research in the frontier areas of Heritage assets would create powerful commercial interest in Indic resources such as Ayurveda and yoga. It is vital to conduct research of the highest quality and publish in well-regarded fora, and IIT Hyderabad will strive to create a benchmark in the domain of Heritage Research.



Mohan Raghavan, Head of the HST Department at IIT Hyderabad, said from Yoga to Ayurveda, language, tourism, sports, music, and archaeological sites are all incredibly valuable and hold the key to building people’s livelihoods. It is essential to unlocking the significance of heritage assets via robust science and technology efforts.
