IIT Madras and University of Birmingham Inviting Applications for Joint Masters Programmes
Indian Institute of Madras (IIT Madras) and the University of Birmingham opened the application portal for joint master's programmes in Data Science (DS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Indian Institute of Madras (IIT Madras) and the University of Birmingham opened the application portal for joint master's programmes in Data Science (DS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Interested and eligible candidates can register online at the official website- ge.iitm.ac.in/Birmingham. The deadline to apply for the programme is June 11, 2023.



The course condition for joint masters in data science and artificial intelligence will involve students learning in Birmingham and Chennai. The programme will start in July 2023 and allow students to spend five months in the United Kingdom, after which they can return to IIT Madras and finish the remainder of the programme and their research project. Students can also study for twelve months in the UK and complete the course in Birmingham.



Enrolled students will also conduct a research project based on real-world challenges.



Candidates should note that the fee structure of the United Kingdom study element in the joint programme depends on domestic fee levels and not international levels.



Eligibility Criteria




  • The student must have BA in science or engineering with 60% or above marks.

  • Students with 75% in English from CBSE/CISCE/ West Bengal board or exceeding 80% from other state boards will not give TOEFL/ IELTS/ PTE academic examinations.

  • Students who achieved an undergraduate degree from a non-English medium should deliver marks from TOEFL/ IELTS/ PTE academic tests.



Students will also gain access to the School of computer science, medical imaging, intelligent robotics, computer science laboratories, a teaching laboratory for Robotics, and research laboratories for security and computer vision at the University of Birmingham.
