The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in collaboration with Indian Space Association and US Consulate General Chennai, are hosting a Space Technology Conclave.



The 'Space Technology: The Next Business Frontier' conclave will focus on 04 key themes - International Collaboration, Space Policy, Space Entrepreneurship and Business, and Scientific Research and Development. The Institute has formed Working Groups to explore the 04 themes, and over 70 invited group members and 04 chairpersons from around 15 countries including India, Japan, the USA, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines among others, will take part in the conclave.



Through this initiative, the major stakeholders in the sector of space technology will be brought together to probe ways to advance business collaborations and opportunities across the Indo-Pacific region.



The key outcome from this conclave will be to establish the ‘ASEIP(Association of Space Entrepreneurs in the Indo-Pacific)'.



The Minister Counselor for Economic, Environment, Science and Technology Affairs, US Embassy, New Delhi, Drew Schufletowski, while addressing the conclave, said, “I believe India and the US are natural partners in the space sector. I see immense opportunities for expanding bilateral and multilateral collaboration in space sector, particularly the space entrepreneurship".



Some other participating govt space agencies include the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), ASA ( the Australian Space Agency), and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency).
