IIT Madras Incubated 'GUVI' Startup To Train Over 10 Million Programmes

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has incubated a start-up 'GUVI' to train learners in more than ten million programmes in upcoming months. The start-up train students in coding practice and assessment and has already trained five lakh engineering students, using regional languages, through e-learning platform.
The programmes, under the start-up, are offered in different regional languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi and English and reaches out to students residing in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across the country.
GUVI has also signed an agrrement with Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to be integrated into the NEAT (National Education SAlliance for Technology) which is a public-private partnership model between edutech companies and central govt. and is being implemented by AICTE (All india Council for Technical Education).
So far, students from more than 1200 engineering colleges across the country have been trained by GUVI. The start-up is also offering IIT certified programmes and specialized programmes that is taught by IIT Madras professors and industry mentors.
CEO and Co-founder of GUVI S. P Balamurugan said that the edutech platform was on a mission to minimize conflicts in tech learning to create 10 million computer specialists across the country by next year. He added, "GUVI, being the first mover in offering technology content in vernacular languages has provided a holistic AI-drive platform that meets the diverse needs of five lakh students and over 250 employees".
The recruitment team of GUVI also organizes interview opportunities for students that align with their product goals. So far, more than 1100 full-stacked developers have been created under GUVI's online bootcamp programme namely ZEN Class who have secured placements in around 200 product-based companies.
