IIT Madras Joined Hands with Cargill to Offer Scholarships for BS Degree
Students will be selected based on the Merit-cum-Means scholarship qualifying standard. The Cargill Scholarship will permit about 100 students from low-income families to follow their dream of attending IIT Madras.

The students at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) can now get a full scholarship to pursue BS in Data Science Applications. The new scholarship has been introduced in collaboration with Cargill. Cargill is a US-global food & agriculture corporation.
Students will be selected based on the Merit-cum-Means scholarship qualifying standard. Around 7,500 new students attended the programme, with 25% to 30% having an annual family income of less than Rs 5 lakh. The Cargill Scholarship will permit about 100 students from low-income families to follow their dream of attending IIT Madras.
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras launched the Bachelor's degree programme in Data Science & Applications in the month of June 2020. After six terms, the programme is entering its 3rd year.
BS in Data Science & Applications programme was awarded for the best online programme in the QS-Wharton Reimagine Education Award.
So far, around 22,000 students have qualified for the programme, with 17,000 presently registered. While 195 students are pursuing a degree, 4,500 are pursuing a diploma.
The IIT Madras Bachelor's Degree in Data Science & Applications equips students with several entrance and exit options, permitting them to exit with a diploma, certificate, or degree. This programme comprises four levels, and a student must successfully complete all four levels in order to receive the BS Degree in Data Science and Applications degree.
