IIT Madras, L&T EduTech Join Hands to Introduce Joint Skilling Courses for Engineering, science students

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) will join hands with L&T EduTech, the digitally-driven learning initiative by Larsen & Toubro, in order to introduce industry skilling programmes for engineering and science learners across India.



This initiative aims to bridge the gap that is required to make the students ‘industry ready.’ It will deliver customised courses for professionals across the industry to upskill themselves and earn career advancement. Pravartak Technologies will bring in professionals from different engineering and science departments of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, while L&T EduTech will offer industry expertise.



Each of these programmes will offer conceptual learning supported by engineering applications. All participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of engineering along with industry-relevant wisdom emanating from engineering practice.



Experts are seeking to achieve 25,000 students annually. These programmes are being delivered in a hybrid mode.



The details about the courses will be announced soon on their respective websites and social media platforms by the end of May 2023.



Director of the IIT Madras, Professor V Kamakoti, said IIT Madras and L&T group have been jointly creating various technology and skilling programmes across diverse departments. Our flagship programme- ‘BIS’ (Build India Scholarship), is a tremendous victory. We are now taking action ahead with this relationship to manage the skill gap between academia and industry via certification programmes. These courses are developed by professionals from industry as well as academia with equivalent significance to theory and hands-on sessions. It is developed for experts and fresh graduates in core engineering and IT/ITES for upskilling, cross-skilling, and reskilling. We look forward to a great partnership.
