The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI) has formed a strategic partnership with Ericsson for collaborative research in the field of Responsible AI. Ericsson, as a 'Platinum Consortium Member,' will support and engage in research activities at CeRAI over a five-year agreement.

To mark this collaboration, a Symposium on Responsible AI for Networks of the Future was organized. During this event, leaders from IIT Madras and Ericsson Research discussed developments in the Responsible AI field, with a focus on its applications in future networks. A panel discussion titled 'Responsible AI for Networks of the Future' was held to highlight ongoing research activities at CeRAI, including projects related to large-language models in healthcare and participatory AI.

Ericsson recognizes the critical role of AI research in the evolution of 5G and 6G networks, which will rely on AI algorithms for autonomous operations. Professor B Ravindran emphasized the importance of ensuring AI models are explainable and can provide suitable performance guarantees for their applications, especially in the context of 6G networks.

This partnership underscores the shared commitment of IIT Madras and Ericsson to advancing Responsible AI research and its applications in future network technologies.
