On December 14, The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) declared the launch of a new Interdisciplinary Dual Degree programme on Quantitative Finance. Interested candidates can check and apply for the new programme by visiting the official IIT Madras website- iitm.ac.in.

Computer Science and Engineering, Departments of Management Studies, and Mathematics for BTech dual degree students will jointly offer this newly-introduced programme.

The Interdisciplinary Dual Degree (IDDD) programme on Quantitative Finance course is open for undergraduate students of all branches belonging to engineering disciplines at IIT Madras. Even the existing students can pursue the interdisciplinary Dual Degree programme on Quantitative Finance from their sixth semester.

According to the official timeline released by IIT Madras, the course will intake 25 students, and the first batch of students will be joining in January 2023. During the fifth year, the enrolled students will undertake a project for six months with industry using the tools and techniques learned during the course.

After completing the programme/course, the graduating students will be provided to discover lucrative opportunities in Fintech companies, portfolio management companies, and financial intermediaries.
