BS (Chemistry) with specialisation- Course structure

In the first few semesters, this UG programme will share fundamental knowledge in basic science and engineering, which comprises the base of various skill sets used by scientists and engineers to innovate, develop, and design technologies for the future. Students will experience training in cutting-edge concepts of chemistry for the next two years. The final year of the course will deliver specialisation in a focused area.

The BS course is a four-year undergraduate programme of eight equal semesters. The academic programmes at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur normally operate in semester mode with Autumn and Spring semesters.

IIT Jodhpur offers four core disciplines to choose from:

  1. Spectroscopy and Dynamics

  2. Organic and Organometallic Catalysis

  3. Advanced Energy Materials

  4. Entrepreneurship

Eligibility criteria

Admissions to the course are based on JEE Advanced scores, and candidates must have completed class XII or equivalent in the Science stream. A Bachelor of Science student with a CGPA of 6 or higher at the end of the 7th semester, in addition to meeting the minimum credit requirements, might be allowed to switch to the BS-MTech dual degree programme at the beginning of the eighth semester.
