An Indian diplomat stated that India would be happy to partner with the UAE in its measures to make the Emirates a global educational hub besides being a financial hub.
Tadu Mamu, Consul of the Indian Embassy, also the chief guest at a global education conclave, said the covid-19 pandemic had unleashed the potential of online learning in a big way that was drawing the attention of students.
She stated there was a need to maintain a balance between the physical mode of learning with Edu-tech.
She said the UAE leadership aims to make the Emirates a global educational hub besides being a financial hub.
Tadu Mamu said we see that many major universities have made Abu Dhabi and the UAE their hub, and we see it progressing. India will be happy to be a partner in these measures.
She also said that India & the UAE share extremely close connections across the cultural and political sectors, and the links had strengthened under the leadership of the two countries.
On Thursday, the Dubai conclave saw educators, students, edu-tech leaders, and experts from the Gulf Cooperation Council region and beyond brainstorm over crucial problems revolving around education, with a special emphasis on digital technology and its potential to aid learning.
The two-day conclave- Schools for the Future, was conducted by Kyra Global, a company founded in Dubai by veteran Indian publisher KPR Nair, in collaboration with The American University in the Emirates (AUE), one of Dubai's leading universities.
It was attended by about 250 participants in physical mode and thousands of others from across the globe virtually to brainstorm solutions to redesign and construct schools for the future.
The Indian diplomat said our measures towards innovation and the development of younger minds are always a priority, and this is one area in which we are very interested, and anyone, who has ideas and is ready to partner with the Indian Consulate is most welcome.
She said setting up an IIT campus in Abu Dhabi, declared last year as part of the business deal, would give a fillip to bilateral collaboration.
Frank Islam, an Indian-American entrepreneur & philanthropist and a member of the US Commission on Presidential Scholars, in his comments in the opening session, stated that the Schools of the Future should be all-around to maximise the potential for 21st-century education.
Participating virtually, Islam concentrated on the roles and duties of the edupreneur' in shaping students, studies, and society.
