An international curriculum has been launched by the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India), the body which conducts the CA exams across the country, for accountancy aspirants abroad.



Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedhararn said that the International Curriculum and the International Affairs Policy launched by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is a move on the right track to enhance the global presence and recognition of the ICAI. The aim of the ICAI's International Affairs Policy is to develop Indian CAs as a truly global brand at the international level. it envisions positioning ICAI as a highly valued accountancy body globally and enhancing global visibility, increasing global mobility and contributing to the development of Indian Economy as a whole".



He further added that it will prove to be another significant landmark in the journey of the accountancy profession not only in India but worldwide.



According to the ICAI officials, the international curriculum has been designed to attract students from across developing countries who will contribute to the economic growth of their countries.



Atul Kumar Gupta, President of ICAI, said, "Through its International Curriculum, ICAI seeks to achieve the government's objective of internationalisation of higher education as enshrined in the National Education Policy".



The CA curriculum's existing structure with 03 levels examination would reamin same in the International Curriculum and the education would continue to be granted via distance learning mode by providing study materials and other educational materials. Furthermore, the focus would be laid on e-learning modes such as e-lectures, e-books, e-journal and digital coaching classes to cover the distance learning gap. ITT (Information Technology Training) and MCS (Management and Communication Skills) would also be imparted digitally. The 03-year concurrent industrial training would be essential in the International curriculum as well.
