Master of Science in Astrophysics and Astronomy



MSc in Astrophysics is a 02-year postgraduate program to teach students both observational and theoretical aspects of astrophysics. This programme focuses on developing the research skills in Astrophysics such as Gravitational Dynamics, Stars and Nebula, and Accretion Physics (optional).



MSc in Astronomy is also a 2-year Postgraduate programme to deal with study of celestial objects outside the earth atmosphere.



Entrance: The admission process for both the courses is done through entrance exams. Interested candidates must have completed their graduation with 50% aggregate marks to be eligible for the entrance exams.



Job Profiles: The candidates with MSc in Astrophysics can opt for Academic Research Editor, Research Scientist, Administrative Assistant, Lecturer, etc. posts, whereas the MSc in Astronomy candidates can opt for Astronaut, Astronomer, Lecturer, Aeronautical Engineer, Research Scientist, Planetarium Director, Meteorologist, Senior Technical Writer, Climatologist, etc. posts.
