Pondicherry University English professor Got a Hungarian Research Scholarship
A professor from the English department of Pondicherry University, Ujjwal Jana, recently won a Hungarian research scholarship for 2022-23, funded by Tempus Foundation of the Government of Hungary, to conduct collaborative research at the ELTE Department of English Studies, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest Hungary.

A professor from the English department of Pondicherry University, Ujjwal Jana, recently won a Hungarian research scholarship for 2022-23, funded by Tempus Foundation of the Government of Hungary, to conduct collaborative research at the ELTE Department of English Studies, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest Hungary.
Professor Ujjwal Jana edited an anthology in January 2023 on Digital Culture in Humanities- Contemporary Trends by ABS Books, a Delhi-based publishing house. He has been working in Indian poetics, translation studies, and critical humanities and published various research papers in national and international journals.
Under his supervision, five scholars were rewarded Ph.D.- all positioned well in academic positions in the country, and many MA (Master's) students have successfully achieved the research projects.
Professor Ujjwal Jana has been a Fulbright visiting lecturer at India Studies Program, Indiana University, Bloomington, US, from 2007-08 and was also selected for the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship in the UK for 2013. Moreover, the professor received the Sahitya Akademi Travel Grants Award in 2014 and was a visiting faculty in the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and the English departments of Leipzig University, Germany, in 2014 and 2017, respectively.
Further, Jana was awarded the Ministry of Education, Government of India (GoI), funded an international collective project in digital humanities under the SPARC Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration in order to collaborate or partner with Western Sydney University, Australia, for 2019 to 2023.
Gurmeet Singh, Pondicherry University vice-chancellor professor, congratulated professor Ujjwal Jana for receiving prestigious recognition from the Government of Hungary and publishing an edited book on digital humanities.
