Continental's Technical Center India (TCI) has signed a three-year joint research program with IIT-Palakkad. The research program focuses on autonomous driving technologies, safety solutions, and connected mobility.

Continental Technical Center India stated that under the collaboration between IIT-Palakkad and Continental, they will analyze, build, and develop capabilities for enhancing simulation instances for video and image processing chains for autonomous driving. The partnership will focus on mobility safety features based on human vision features, high-performance computing, and developing safety solutions for intelligent battery sensing modules.

The agreement between the two parties will build high-standard opportunities to operate the technical expertise and Academic prowess of IIT- Palakad and Continental. Continental said that internship opportunities will be offered to benefit IIT- Palakkad students and design unique coursework in sync with upcoming and current industry trends.

Latha Chembrakam, Head of Technical Center India (TCI), communicated that with this program, they will have a strong emphasis on joint research projects accomplishing automotive megatrends. They believe this program will mutually benefit the TCI and IIT- Palakkad with regard to acquiring technology competence and academic excellence.

As per the reports, the purpose of the collaboration and program is to develop niche skills for IIT- Palakkad, and Continental. The research project will be offered to the IIT students who will be assisting Continental's topic experts in the form of internships.

Santhakumar, Dean of Industry Collaboration and Sponsered research at IIT- Palakkad, stated that IIT is delighted to collaborate with Continental (TCI) to develop an outstanding program to expand the industry-academia association. With this program, IIT- Palakkad wants to set a benchmark that would help the institute to accomplish some of the unique industry problem statements while assuring real-time technical exposure for our students.

Santhakumar added that our academic know-how will promote this program in the right direction. Hackathons and other competitive challenges will be conducted for students to make the partnership extra insightful and interactive. Continental commented that with this structure and unique coursework, IIT- Palakkad, and Continental desire to prepare students for highly competitive industry-ready talents.
