The University of Melbourne and 3 Indian Universities to Offer BSc Dual Degree Programme
The interested students registering in the dual degree programme will spend the first two years learning in India, followed by the following two years on campus in Melbourne, Australia.

Gandhi Institute of Technology And Management (GITAM), University of Madras, Savitribai Phule Pune University, with the University of Melbourne, will now offer a four-year bachelor of science dual degree programme to Indian students.



The interested students registering in the dual degree programme will spend the first two years learning in India, followed by the following two years on campus in Melbourne, Australia.



After completing the programme, Indian students will get a Bachelor of Science degree from the Gandhi Institute of Technology And Management and the University of Melbourne. In addition, students can directly register for Melbourne’s master's programme in diverse disciplines.



While announcing the launch of the four-year degree programme, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Melbourne, Duncan Maskell, said at the University of Melbourne, we are delighted to continue developing our programmes to give more Indian students direct pathways to finish their studies.



Maskell added with demand for our current programmes continuing to increase, we are glad to be working together with prestigious local universities to be part of the internationalisation of education in India and at home in Australia.



Vice-Chancellor of the GITAM (deemed to be a University), Professor Dayananda Siddavattam, said in partnership with the University of Melbourne, the Bachelor of Science Joint Degree aims to educate and authorize our next generation of scientists and leaders in Science Education. These students will have entry to the best opportunities available at home in India at GITAM and then extend their horizons by studying at the University of Melbourne. This is part of our initiative to transform education and evolve our students into successful global citizens.



According to the official notification, the University of Madras, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Gandhi Institute of Technology And Management are the first partners in the Bachelor of Science dual degree programme, with discussions underway with more institutes looking to deliver the dual degree programme from 2024.
