The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi's TIH (Technology Innovation Hub) has signed an MoU with the TIH of IIIT (Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology), Delhi. The memorandum of understanding has been signed by both institutes to set up the first Medical Cobotics Centre (MCC) of India at IIIT-Delhi.
The Medical Cobotics Centre will be a technology-enabled medical simulation. The Centre will also be used for the young resident doctors as the training facility.
It would also support the other healthcare professionals' training such as technicians, paramedical staff, researchers, and engineers.
The centre will perform as a validation centre as well for the research conclusions in the healthcare robotics and digital health areas.
The training programmes will be prepared in consultation with leading experts/ doctors, es[ecially from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Jodhpur, New Delhi, and other esteemed medical institutions.
The programmes would be implemented at multiple levels such as basic/ advanced. The programmes will also be cohort-specific like neurology, urology, laparoscopy, among others, but in initial period will only be restricted to minimum invasive surgeries.
