The University of Cambridge's School of Arts and Humanities invites applications for an AHRC CDA doctoral studentship proposed by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership. Position Overview



Situated within the Theoretical and Applied Linguistics Section in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Language and Linguistics, this studentship is part of a collaborative initiative led by Professor Ianthi Tsimpli (University of Cambridge), Amy Lightfoot (British Council UK), and Dr Debanjan Chakrabarti (British Council India).



The selected candidate will pioneer original research aimed at understanding and destigmatizing the usage of multiple languages within classrooms of linguistically diverse societies in the Global South.



Financial Support



Annual maintenance grant covering living expenses: £18,622 stipend + £550 CDA allowance per annum (current rates)



University tuition fees at the home fee level



Additional Funding:



Dedicated funding allocated for fieldwork research at the British Council in India



For International Applicants:



University of Cambridge offers internal co-funding to bridge the fee gap between home and overseas fee rates.
