The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has extended the H1-B visa registration deadline after several user concerns over technical glitches by saying it will accept registrations till March 20, 2023.



The agency tweeted: Yesterday, some users were unable to finish their registration procedure. United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has fixed this technical problem and will now accept registrations until 5:00 pm- Monday, March 20, 2023.




Yesterday some users were not able to complete the H-1B registration process. USCIS has fixed this technical issue & will now accept registrations until 5:00 pm ET Monday, March 20, 2023.

Please note any paid & completed registrations were not affected by this technical issue.

The initial registration period for 2024 H-1B cap started on March 1, 2023, and was supposed to end on March 17, 2023.



The USCIS has started the H1-B electronic registration procedure. And those registering and their authorised employers who wish to hire H-1B employees must register and provide basic information about each proposed employee and the possible petitioner under this approach.



The H-1B visa is a work permit allowing foreign workers to move to the United States and work for American companies. It is majorly used by tech firms in order to hire highly qualified tech talent from other nations.



To register for an H-1B visa, one must make a United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) online account and then use a registrant account within myUSCIS to submit registrations. Post that, click the I am an H-1B registrant account type. However, registrants won’t be able to provide more information until the initial registration period opens.



Registrants must submit their company’s details and required information for the first H-1B registration. A nominal fee of 10 dollars is required for every registration (non-refundable).
